Several senior ministers on Monday called on Congress President Sonia Gandhi and expressed their 'dissatisfaction' over the allotment of portfolios by Chief Minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy during the cabinet formation.
Ministers Vatti Vasanth Kumar, Botsa Satyanaraya, Komatireddy Venkata Reddy, Dharmana Prasad, Ponnala Lakshmaiah, Mukesh Goud, P Shankar Rao and Pithani Satyanarayana have expressed their displeasure at being allotted 'insignificant' portfolios.
They alleged that the Chief Minister had given top priority to Reddy community by allotting important portfolios. The Chief Minister had not even taken into account the regional and caste equations, and had completely ignored the seniority and experience of leaders while giving portfolios, the ministers said.
As many as 13 Ministers in the cabinet are from the Reddy community.
The High Command is yet to take a decision on Deputy Chief Minister's post, the next Pradesh Congress Committee President, the Speaker and Deputy Speaker's posts.
According to sources, PCC chief D Srinivas held consultations with Sonia Gandhi and Union Law Minister and AP Affairs In-Charge M Veerappa Moily.
Chief Minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy will leave for New Delhi on Monday night to finalise the names for Deputy CM, PCC Chief and Speaker posts with the Congress High Command.
According to speculations, J Geetha Reddy, Damodar Rajanarasimha and Ponnala Laxmaiah are in the race for the Deputy Chief Minister post.
The names of minority candidate Shabbir Ali and Marri Shashidhar Reddy are doing rounds for PCC chief post.
The High Command is considering Nadendla Manohar, the Deputy Speaker in the Assembly, for the Speaker post.
