Nitish Kumar, Lalu Yadav are winners, but will it be an easy task for them to run Bihar Govt jointly?

Nitish Kumar has won against Narendra Modi but he has to prove his talent while dealing with his past foe and present political partner, Lalu Prasad Yadav to run the government without any hurdle. Though RJD has highest numbers in the Assembly but because of an earlier agreement Lalu will have to settle with the Nitish's leadership. But he can create hurdles for Nitish at any time. It may happen after a year or before Lok Sabha elections 2019. But it is sure that Lalu will try to replace Nitish with his eldest son.

In democracy there is no security for political parties for their winning streak. In the post independent era of India only the Congress Party had a chance to be in the power for a long period (nearly 40 years) as there was no strong opposition party in the country. Though Jan Sangh Party was there people could not attract and make it own. This might be because of the illiteracy and lack of awareness.

Moreover the Nehru family had got the name that they sacrificed their wealth for the independence of the country. Whatever the reason was, the Congress had the advantage of being in the power for a long time till 1977 when Janata Party came into power for a brief period because of Loknayak Jaya Prakash Narayan who brought all Non-Congress political parties into one fold. Now the same thing has been done by his disciples Lalu Prasad Yadav and Nitish kumar.

The victory for grand alliance in Bihar has got its own importance from the beginning. When Nitish Kumar wanted to keep the power at any cost, he decided to put aside all the morals and shook hands with Lalu Prasad Yadav who was sentenced by the Court for corrupt practices. This once again indicates that in politics there is no chance for rivalry to continue for a long time. I am strong believer that corruption of any person will not alter the results. People of Bihar never thought about Lalu's corruption and brought it into light.

The vital thing that played importance in the victory of Grand Alliance is strong regional leadership. Nitish and Lalu Prasad are not only experienced but also has a strong cadre base throughout the state maybe because of their caste and other things. During the Lok Sabha elections they were divided as they could not predict that Modi's effect was serious. Now they had read the things well and had come to a conclusion that they can defeat BJP only when they are united.

The weak point of BJP is that they had no recognized OBC leader in the region and they allied with small parties and that dominated by SC leaders. A state like Bihar must have a strong OBC leader like Nitish and Lalu. Whereas the BJP is having some non-OBC leaders like Ravi Shankar Prasad and Rajiv Pratap Rudy who can only orate but can't make things done. The other two Muslim leaders Syed Shah Nawaz Hussian of Bihar and present minister of state Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi of UP have no influence in the community and Radha Mohan Singh, who is a weak political leader has no weight among the masses.

Opposition leader Sushil Kumar Modi is also weak when it is about impressing the mass. The own BJP leader and matinee idol Shatrughan Sinha acted against his own party. In the mean time (during the election campaign) BJP had to face the beef controversy, issue of intolerance and RSS Chief's quota statement. These issues fetched a lot to Grand Alliance and turned them against BJP in a strategic way.

Now everything is looking well for the Grand Alliance but they have also made lots of promises to people during elections and to keep those promises a lot of fund is needed. It is a great challenge for the Grand Alliance to fulfil the promises. Already the Prime Minister had announced a big bonanza for Bihar, which is a great asset for the Nitish Kumar.

Above all it is very difficult for Nitish to continue the government with RJD for the full five year term. Though Lalu is OK for the time being but it can't be said that he would keep his word. There is no doubt that for Nitish it is not an easy task to fly with Lalu in one plane.
