The Congress party government in Andhra Pradesh received a major setback on Sunday with three of its legislators belonging to the Telangana region announcing resignations both to the party and to their membership of state legislative assembly.
The three MLAs include Jupally Krishna Rao representing Kollapur constituency in Mahabubnagar district, Somarapu Satyanarayana representing Ramagundam constituency in Karimnagar district and Thatikonda Rajaiah representing Station Ghanpur in Warangal district. .
With resignation of three MLAs, the strength has come down to 47 MLAs. Of the 294 seats in the state assembly, 107 are represented by the 10 districts of the Telangana region, and 16 of 42 parliamentary constituencies
